A flash in time

Somewhere, Kevin Federline is laughing. An out-of-shape, out-of-touch Britney Spears delivered what was destined to be the most talked about performance of the MTV Video Music Awards — but for all the wrong reasons.

Kicking off the show Sunday night with her new single, ‘Gimme More’, Spears looked bleary and unprepared, much like her recent tabloid exploits on the streets of Los Angeles. She walked through her dance moves with little enthusiasm. She appeared to have forgotten the art of lip-synching. And, perhaps most unforgivable given her once-taut frame, she looked embarrassingly out of shape.

That's a quote from some news group. I have to say. I was watching this, and i truly felt embarrassed for her.
I have no idea what her general problem was, but she looked horrible, and I'm not talking body wise. I think it was pretty mean for the blogosphere to be attacking her body. Of course she doesn't look like this pic from the 2001 VMA's anymore.

She's 5 years older, mother of two, who is whacked out in the head and having serious mental issues. I do have to agree that she shouldn't have been wearing what she was wearing, she was trying too hard with that. Her hair is horrible, I don;'t know what hairdresser she uses, and i know she has little of it, and most of it is extensions, but shit girl, you have money, there are people who do GOOD jobs with shit like that!

and she definitely wasn't prepared, performance wise. She did indeed look like a stiff ass mannequin with no personality. Whether it was due to a performance change ( supposedly some routine by Criss Angel, the Mind freak fuck-up was ditched last minute) her back-up dancers had no problem getting the new routine down pat and banged it out. She used to be a good lip-syncher, that certainly fell by the wayside, why even try, really. We all know you don't sing anymore, remember when Milli Vanilli was outed and shamed for this ( course they didn't sing at all, but how do we really know Britney really records either?) She was otherwise occupied and looked really bored, or nervous, or perhaps medicated. She looked like her boots hurt really bad and she coulodn't walk right either.

I am certainly no fan of hers, nor will I ever be, but I do concur that whatever success she could have achieved by this performance, was ruined and thrown by the wayside by sheer unprofessional ism. Grow up, Britney, do your fucking job, raise your poor kids, and realize that your high life career is over. Go gently into that good night and retire before your kids are old enough to see how embarrassing you really are.

Luckily, so do I.
