and the food was aweosme, we loved the cozy atmosphere, dark wood, and the staff were friendly. I'm thinkin of writing a review, heehee. anyway, we had ballymaloe mushrooms, which were two mushrooms center to center filled with garlic cream cheese, and battered, deep fried and served with a creamy horseradish sauce. My only complaint, i would have liked a wee bit more horseradish, but they were awesome.
as you can see.
and then i had Guiness irish Stew, and Chris had Shepard's Pie, with lamb, no less. Both were excellant, and I couldn't finish mine.
and then onto dessert. I did nto take a picture, as i think the staff thougth i was weird enough taking pics of my food. LOL, but needless to say it was very good. I had an orange choclate guiness cake. Now i am not so much into choclate desserts. i prefer a piece of choccie to osmething choccie flavored, but this was divine, over the top rich, but not over the top sweet, and the hint of Guiness and orange was spectacular. Are you hungry yet??? heehee.
so, onto the pressies. anyone who knows me, knows I love Eeyore, so Eeyore pressies are always appropriate. and the fam obliged me in this obsession as well.
so all in all, it turned out to be a filling and satisfying day.

I'm really glad you did hear from family on your birhtday, though as you said in your other post, online friends really are fantastic; anyway, but also for remembering these kinds of things. Your dinner sounds just wonderful especially that dessert, wow! And when you've eaten out as many time with Lucy, as I have, you get used to the weird looks about taking pics of food. lol
And I love the Pooh figure and the Eeyore one. So cute. I'm a big fan of all things to do with Winnie the Pooh, though my favourite character is probably Tigger. I confess I hacve most of the films on DVD, a collected works of AA Milne, soft toys of all the characters and several figures too. A mix of gifts from friends over the years, but also gifts to me from me!
