Summer Movie part 2

Ok, now I'll get shit thrown at me, but I wasn't as enamored with this movie as everyone else on the planet seems to be. Of course, Heath Ledger's performance was mezmerizing, but I missed the bruce Wayne character. We got a lot of special effects and action that was awesome, although Batman's electronic voice was unnerving.
I jsut felt they left bruce behind and didn't delve into him a t all. and it was a long ass movie. it could have ended in a few places, butthey kept dragging it out.
I also think the tossing in of harvey dent's story bogged it down. Yeah, maybe two-Face coudn't hold up to his own film, but they could have taken himout and pretty much still had a great film. Now, I'm not saying I hated it, because i didn't, I jsut didn't gurgle over it like a fangirl simpleton. I also kinda missed the darkness of the city. i mean, the sun was always fricking shining, and what happened to the harrows? How many years wnet by that the pit of all despair magically disappeared like a virgin's panties at a frat party?Sheesh, they could have kept some of the slumminess of the film, instead they projected almost esclusively on the Joker. Ah well. I give this little piccie 3 Heza's, mostly for action and intent, moreso than for story.

Summer Movie. PT 1

We went and saw Hellboy 2- The Golden Army weekend before last, and I'll tell ya, i freakin loved this movie. It stood up to the first movie brilliantly, whie having a wonderful life of it's own. It was engaging, fast moving and humorous with all of Ron Perlman's charm as the grmupy anti-hero. Guillermo del Toro's imaginaton shines on in the Troll Market scenes with a menagerie of freaks, monsters and ghouls never seen before. This movie doesn't take itself too seriously though and ends up being exactly what it is intended to be, a fun, action packed, popcorn mumchery summer flick. I'll give it 4 Hezas. hahaha.

Idiot Girls Unite!

We went to a book reading/signing tongiht from the author Laurie Notaro. Now I'm not sure if my few readers have heard of her, but if not, go buy her books and a box of Depends, because you will piss yourself laughing. We had a riotus laughing session listening to her talk about the book and herself and of course, pictures are necessary. I'm extremely glad we went, even though the place it was held was literally in the middle of nowhere, with silos and cows right next dorr.

A new job offer

While we were in Ma for a wedding. Pics here http://public.fotki.com/Declangpics/the-egan-wedding/
we went into the restaurant at the Holiday Inn, it was called Pike's Peak and had an old time miner's theme to it. Anyway, they had a bar and we sat drinking there afterward and chatting with friends jsut showing up for the wedding. A drunk girl who got dittched by her friend ( for obviois reaosns to us, LOL) asked me if i was a ahirdresser. Surprised, i said yes, and then she came over and offered me a job at a salon she wants to open. A topless ahir salon. Oh yes, topless indeed, of course. i was a bit surprised, and even more so when she told me she wanted to name it Sluts and Cuts. Of course, the city or state ordinance's were like Um No, you can;'t have a business with sluts in the name, so she was gonna call it. I alittle ofthe top LMAO. Luckily I could escape by saying I lived in North carolina. Thank heaven for little miracles.

Only one cam eout because he was on the move and rubbing against everything. the seocnd shot is him inside a rug. I rolled it up because we were geting rid of it, and of ocurse he couldn't resist shoving himself inside like a burrito.

North Carolina Snow

I've kind of been neglecting this place, it seems. I was surprised when I noitced it's been a month since I posted anything. Life is busy I guess, but anyhoooo, it snowed last Saturday, here in Raliegh, and it snowed all day too, but of course, the ground was too warm for it to stick, but everyone freaks out, so I actually got out of work 1 1/2 hours ealry on sat, so that cna't be a bad thing. but for your viewing pleasure, is the snow, the next day, and caused havoc and school closings and accidents.

Christmas Nummings

Well, we might have actually had it the day after Christmas, whenI actually felt like cooking, but nonetheless, Christmas dinner was delicious. The turkey roulade came out really good, roulades are my newest things. and everything else was good too, we did take our 'annual" pic in fornt of the tree though on Christmas day.
